Submission Guidelines Elementary Schools
Call for Submissions
OCSTA invites all CDSB students in grades 4-12 to create a 2-minute video highlighting how demonstrating care and respect for others gives witness to our faith. For further guidance in developing this video, we invite students and staff to draw upon the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations – section 1 (d). This section explores how we are called to be discerning believers through thought and action by developing “attitudes and values founded on Catholic social teaching and acts to promote social responsibility, human solidarity and the common good.”
The 2023-24 Catholic Education Week sub-themes may also provide ideas for developing or structuring student video submissions:
We are Called to Love…
As people of hope
As people of faith
As people of mercy
As people of justice
As people of joy
Contest Guidelines and Submission Form
Completed submissions are to be uploaded to YouTube (www.youtube.com) for viewing and adjudication by the provincial committee. The unique URL (web address) created by YouTube when a video file is uploaded is to be recorded on the OCSTA short-video contest submission form. Factors considered during the adjudication process include: adherence to contest guidelines; visual appeal; audio clarity and creativity.
The submission deadline is December 8, 2023. The submission form can be accessed at the link below:
First Place: $300 Best Buy Gift Certificate
Second Place: $150 Best Buy Gift Certificate
Third Place: $100 Indigo Gift Certificate
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded at both the elementary and secondary panels.
We thank the students, teachers and trustees of all CDSBs for their support of this contest celebrating Catholic education in Ontario.
