Mya Dolanjski is an accomplished Northeastern Catholic District School Board student who has been selected to attend SHAD 2019, a premier live-in summer Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) entrepreneurship program.
Currently attending O’Gorman High School in Timmins, Mya will join students from across Canada who will spend 27 days at a Canadian university as part of the program. While there, she will engage in lectures, workshops, labs and hands-on learning opportunities. SHAD also formulates a design project every year that asks participants to solve a social problem by applying what they have learned over the course of the program.
Especially impressive is that Mya was selected out of more than 2,600 applications from almost 700 different high schools. She is the first student from O’Gorman High School to apply and be selected in the last five years.
Highly motivated and accomplished community members like Mya set a shining example for all Catholic school students while representing her school at such a prestigious camp.
