St. Brother Andre Catholic High School students took home the top prize in an annual automotive skills competition for the third year in a row.

Samuel Luff and Vince Servinis of the York Catholic District School Board triumphed over 17 other high school teams to win the 20th annual Toronto Automotive Technology Competition last week.

“It was a really great experience to be a part of,” said Samuel. “Not everyone gets a chance to be apart of something like this.”

Luff and Servinis, led by technology teacher Jason Rehel, successfully completed a number of automotive challenges including working on a new Volkswagen Beetle.

“We actually underestimated how we did so it was a surprise to see that we came out on top,” said Samuel. “Hearing our names was just a fantastic moment for us.”

Samuel and Vincent’s win last week means the students will move on to represent Canada at the National Automotive Technology Competition in New York City in April.

Please join us in congratulating these catholic high school students on their automotive threepeat and wishing them luck in New York City.
