Sherry Wong believes it’s not just top marks that will land you scholarships. It’s belief in yourself and the ability to paint your leadership experiences.

Sherry, who graduated from Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School in 2014, qualified for $130,000 in national, provincial and local scholarships. She founded the Young Scholar Foundation to help students reach for the top and have access to scholarships.

“In some cases, it’s not just students who achieve the highest marks who win scholarships,” explained Wong.
“How can you write your essay in a way that reflects  your leadership experience?”
The Young Scholar Foundation helps students prepare  their applications for scholarships and admissions to  post-secondary institutions, providing valuable insights  and advice from past scholarship winners. Currently in  her third year, Wong has continued to win top awards,  receiving a 2015 Canadian Federation of University  Women Scholarship and qualifying for both the 2015  and 2016 Starfish Canada Top 25 Environmentalists  under 25.

Our students consistently meet and exceed provincial  standards, nurturing top scholars who are committed to  helping others.

Sherry is just one example of our system in action.

Tell other alumni like Sherry we want to hear from  them. Help us celebrate Catholic education in Ontario.
