Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School students invited to Carnegie Hall

The Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School senior concert band are taking their show on the road when they head to Carnegie Hall this February.

The band was invited to perform at the famed New York City concert venue after an adjudicator saw them compete, and win gold, at the MusicFest Canada competition in Toronto last spring.

“After seeing everyone put in so much time, having that opportunity given to us really made me proud to be part of the Patrick Fogarty band,” said Emily Fallows, grade 12 student and bass clarinet player at the Orillia high school.

The 45-member band will be performing at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory Invitational held at Carnegie Hall. While they wait for the fast approaching date to arrive, the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board students continue their dedication to perfecting their craft.

“I’m so thankful to have students who work as hard as they do and take it as seriously as they do,” said senior band director James Hilt. “It amazes me that people from different cliques and different areas of the school are able to come together as a group and do something as fantastic as this.”

Patrick Fogarty, located in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, is one of only two Canadian schools invited to compete at Carnegie Hall in New York City this February.

Please join us in congratulating these students on their wonderful achievement.
