Meet Luca Ramelli

Luca Ramelli was one of 30 youth delegates selected from across the country to participate in a National Summit for Canada's first Children's Charter.

feature.jpgThe grade 11 student from Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton was nominated by the Blue Jays Care Foundation and the Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association for his commitment to helping youth with physical and developmental challenges. Luca was invited to Ottawa to participate in discussion for a new vision of making Canada a better, more inclusive place for children to grow up in.

“I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children in Canada," he said. "It is important that we create more opportunities for those with physical and developmental challenges.”

The charter was launched by Children First Canada for the purpose of building a better future for Canadian children living in poverty. Bringing together change makers from across the nation and using their input will help shape programs and policies that will benefit children for years to come.

Ontario’s Catholic schools nurture future leaders and create environments where students can reach their full potential. Luca is just one of our many outstanding students recognized for his commitment to serving the community.

Celebrate inspiring students like Luca and share this story today.
